::: New web site Nom d'un Chien

I’m excited to point to the still barely there but promising nomdunchien.com.

All recent graduates of Université du Québecs’ sequential arts program ("Bande dessinée et figuration narrative") in Hull Qc (they’ve been teaching sequential art in Quebec since ’73 apparently), they have been putting out some excellent zines under the Nom d'un Chien name, getting them selves published here and there, and making noteworthy contributions at the Jams when they are in town.
Artistically Bob, Sabine & Ray all display a lot of talent and a fun, dark & quirky off kilter sense of humour. The work is still in the ‘being worked out as the artist draws’ stage of development, but I find it all the more enjoyable to watch, and having had the pleasure of flipping through some pages for the most recent editing of Nom d'un Chien at a jam a few months back I have to say, they are already displaying some very highly refined work. A interesting mish mash of influences that chart the local comix scene over the last dozen years or so they are quite likely to be amongst the more notable inheritors of the legacy of artists like Julie Doucet, Dave Cooper, Valium and co.
Keep your eyes peeled for these youngun's. The latest edition of Nom d'un Chien is available @ FICHTRE now.
