Le Devoir marks the 100th anniversary of word balloons in francophonie comics
In Montreal, Saturday January 30, 1904, in the daily newspaper La Patrie «the Fatherland», Les Aventures de Timothée appeared. By Albéric Bourgeois, It was the first francophonie comic strip to use Word balloons! A feature deemed by some theorists to be the essential trait of BD [comics].
