ROSCO, a magazine published in both print and online, dealing with culture, arts, humour and nostalgia, is undergoing a redesign & re-conceptualizing. The new theme? “comics comics comics beoitch!”
Originally a university publication, ROSCO has been around for eight years and is now independently run by a rag-tag crew of misfits out of Toronto. The print version is widely distributed in downtown Toronto, and in select locations in Montreal, Vancouver and Ottawa. Work was under way on a planed revamping of the mag when things went awry for co-ordinating editor Steve Mckay
“I had promised a big fancy re-design of roscomagazine.com that would give our comic creators mad props etc. Well we're all good to go with it, but our web editor suddenly quit so shitty beans for us...but I promise it's a commin' and ROSCO's new focus is aimed fairly squarely on comics and local creators
we is lookin' for a dedicated, talented and creative web designer who wants to take charge of www.roscomagazine.com.
a slight redesign and re-organization is needed, to reflect the current vision of the magazine (comics comics comics beoitch!), and then it's all about the updates. we are two issues behind...the material is good to go, we just need it up there.
we upgraded our account recently, so we have some fun tools to play with, but we need YOU to step up to the plate and tell us what you think would be fun to do with the site.
unfortunately this is largely a volunteer position, although we do have a small amount of cash that we will give you every now and then...plus the occasional free drink, admittance to ROSCO events and the tingling thrill of being part of the team.
Write me at chitchat@roscomagazine.com “
