Teacher Wins Grant to Teach Boys About Art

TORONTO, June 3
The Curriculum Foundation announces its 2005 grants to help teachers develop "innovative ideas" into actual classroom materials.
"The Janice Thomson Memorial Grant for secondary teachers in Arts, History,
Special Education, or at-risk students goes to Johan Wilkinson, for her
submission "Art History Goes Graphic", which focuses on the use of graphic
novels (a series of cartoon strips) to increase the interest of all students
but particularly boys in the area of Art History."
