Close Encounters 2005-06
An intimate first-hand experience with treasures from the AGO’s collection of works on paper.

Over the last five years, Seth (born Gregory Gallant) has established himself as one of the foremost international figures in the realm of contemporary comic art. Among the inspirations for his unique pen and ink drawing style is the work of Thoreau MacDonald, book designer and son of Group of Seven painter, J.E.H. MacDonald. Seth believes that Thoreau’s "virtuoso" yet "understated" drawings show a "deep love of the natural world". Works by both Seth and Thoreau MacDonald will be on view. This talk is held in conjunction with the exhibition Present Tense: Seth.
